VW wins R12bn filter export contract
Volkswagen South Africa, along with catalytic converter and exhaust systems manufacturer Eberspächer SA, have been awarded a R12-billion contract to supply the Volkswagen Group with diesel particulate filters for the next five years.
US buys more SA armoured vehicles
South Africa-based Land Systems OMC is to manufacture 111 RG-31 mine-protected personnel carriers for the US Army. The RG-31 is the mine-protected vehicle of choice for peacekeepers, with an all-steel welded monocoque hull that protects its crew from both anti-personnel fire and anti-tank mines.
Trade Port to boost KZN exports
Fixed investments and exports from South Africa's KwaZulu-Natal province are set to increase with the completion of the R6.5-billion Dube Trade Port to the north of Durban.
VW South Africa to export Jettas
Port Elizabeth-based Volkswagen South Africa has secured a contract to export 10 000 units of the latest version of the Jetta sedan to countries that also use right-hand-drive vehicles, enabling the company to achieve record export volumes this year.
