SA set for massive infrastructure drive

There are signs that South Africa is starting to win the war against unemployment, as the economy slowly recovers from the 2008-09 global recession, President Jacob Zuma said in his 2012 State of the Nation address.

South Africa will not nationalise its mines, Mineral Resources Minister Susan Shabangu told the 2012 Mining Indaba in Cape Town, welcoming the report of an ANC task team reaffirming that nationalisation was "not a viable policy" for the country.

The Department of Trade and Industry wants to run a regular small business census to help improve its support and funding to the sector as part of a revised policy to boost support to small businesses.
