Making sustainable seafood choices
The Southern African Sustainable Seafood Initiative is working with wholesalers, retailers and restaurants to shift consumers' seafood choices from over-fished species to those that are plentiful in supply, in order to create a sustainable seafood culture "from hook to plate".
Ivory sale to fund conservation
South African National Parks says that regulations will be strictly enforced to ensure that proceeds from the sale of 51 tons of stockpiled ivory go toward elephant research, conservation, habitat expansion and the development of communities affected by the presence of elephants.
