Living Conditions Survey under way

Statistics South Africa has launched its year-long Living Conditions Survey, a first-of-its-kind study that will help measure poverty reduction and the effectiveness of social development programmes in the country.

Govt, Angloplat in housing deal

A pilot project for South Africa's R6-billion mass literacy campaign, which aims to help an additional 4.7-million South Africans achieve literacy by 2012, is well under way, with 360 000 learners enrolled and 24 000 voluntary educators being recruited.
